A long time ago I decided that there was no point in growing up ? I mean what was in it for me? I know that for a lot of people, they think that men never grow up, but I bet you never thought you?d encounter one that didn?t grow up out of choice now did you? Now I know what you?re thinking, but no, I don?t think I?m Peter Pan, I just mean I try to take the same joy out of life and the world about me as I did when I was a child. I try to remember that life is about playing, not working. Although we have to work to live ? I don?t think it should be the be-all of our existences. As the late, great Bill Hicks put it, ?It?s just a ride?.
I have never wanted children, I still don't want children and I can honestly say that I have never fathered a child. This I consider to be my one great gift to society. I would be a very bad parent.
My loves in this life include but are not limited to;
Music ? both live and recorded, (I prefer live music, but will take my ?fix? anyway I can.) Stand-up comedy - amongst my favourites are the previously mentioned Bill Hicks, Dara O?Briain, Eddie Izzard, Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey. One of my biggest regrets in life is that I never got to see Bill Hicks perform, and I missed my chance. Animals and nature ? I?ve been a vegetarian for over 20 years now because I could see no difference between the animals we call pets and those that we call lunch. I?m not a preaching vegetarian, that kind of self-righteousness gets to me almost as much as it gets to the people they preach to. I?m vegetarian because of my moral compass and that?s enough work as it is without trying to be everybody else?s as well.
Photography ? This ties in quite nicely with some of my other interests and I?ll quite happily point my camera at anything that moves, that doesn?t move, or that has never moved, (although one day I hope to get a photo of a castle striding across the landscape? Hey! Just because one never has doesn?t mean that it never will!) I do like old ruins and sites of historic interest, from Stonehenge to ruined abbeys and everything in between. Gives me a chance to point my camera at something interesting too.
Now some of the above will probably make you think that I?m some sort of goth (or goff, however you wish to spell it), however I think I?d rather throw my hat into the Punk ring if I absolutely have to have a label attached to me. Of course throwing my hat into the ring means I don?t have to wear the bloody thing, and so my mohawk can stand proud. Yes, yes, I know a mohawk is a cliche, but I did tell you I decided not to grow up! To go with my mohawk, I have 13 distinctly separate tattoos, which include, but is not limited to, both lower arms covered in unique tribal designs, a sword tattooed down the length of my spine, and a dragon on either side of the sword. If you dislike tattoos, then I?m sorry that I took this long in my intro to reveal this to you and you had to read all my other ramblings before arriving at this point. Sorry and goodbye.

As you can probably gather, I don?t really take myself too seriously and ultimately am interested in talking to people that don't take me or themselves too seriously either. A few mutual interests is good, some differing interests is better as long as they?re not deal-breakers, e.g. I like shooting birds with my camera and you like shooting them with a shotgun ? that kind of gulf in interests stands really no chance.
